Marketing Specialist

Full-Time Contract

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the overall goal of this position is to contribute to the ongoing success of LEG by coordinating marketing and business development efforts. Working closely with all LEG departments, this is a full-time contract position.

Key Position Objectives:

  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop and implement the company’s branding and marketing strategies to achieve immediate and long-term business goals
  • Create and coordinate content; implement marketing, branding, and advertising plans
  • Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional activities
  • Prepare and distribute promotional materials as required
  • Plan content calendar and write compelling content for company website, social media accounts, blogs, and internal/external newsletters
  • Research advertising, sponsorship opportunities per company segments
  • Interact and collaborate with technical staff and associates on a regular basis to convey technically sound messaging to target markets
  • Aid Sales in the preparation and delivery of presentations as required
  • Develop and maintain significant business relations within the marketplace in the name of the Company
  • Plan meetings and industry events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments
  • Conduct market research of competitors by identifying and evaluating product/service characteristics, advertising efforts, social media and website content
  • Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring program success
  • Additional duties as required

Education and Experience: Must have successfully completed a BA in Marketing, Communications or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years prior experience is required. Experience in remote sensing or GIS is considered an asset. Additional requirements include:

  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements, including but not limited to traditional and digital marketing (SEO/Google Ads campaigns), content marketing, social media marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, technical writing abilities
  • Some experience in video/photo editing and graphic design
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and project organization skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain a helpful and positive approach to all client and colleague interactions

Working Conditions:

  • There may be requirement for occasional overtime
  • Remote position, may be required to travel to head office in Fredericton, NB
